My blog

Hi everyone, this is my first attempt at blogging, please be patient with me. I have always been passionately interested in science and always been a committed Christian who believes in the creative power of God, and I honestly believe that the two are not mutually exclusive. I would like to use this blog to explore this relationship.

Shapes in Space

Self-explanetory really, but interesting anyway.  How did those hexagons come to be on Saturn?

Yes, it is "perplexing", perhaps "bizarre", but certainly not "unbelievable". Standing waves are quite common in rotary fluid dynamics. It looks like the wave patterns seen in Earth's circumpolar jet stream--only more symmetric, probably due to lack of oceans and continents below.
